History teaches you there is nothing new under the sun just a brand new Sinister Version of it

History my old friend and our old friend is a very useful thing to have.

It is NOT pleasant reading about executions where described, just get through it and then you can make assumptions that if you are reading Ancient History Tudor, Staurt to Greek Roman then a certain amount of Gore is involved. It is par for the Course.

But History books yield more than the problems of living they describe. They also remind you of us humans before Hi Tech who had to have multiple skills in order to survive. From dressmaking and tailoring to swordsmanship and army training. If in a battle one would wish an army of efficient killers rather than clumsy idiots. Disability is unconsciously woven into all this and pops up in all its horrible asymetrical uneqaul powers.

Historians such as Ruth Goodman offer much to the History lover recreating everything but the nasties (bar drama which seeks real life recreations) in showing us how our forebears worked. They also show us we must NOT lose our skills and if we are get back to reskilling in ancient skills albeit mixed with the modern.

One also learns that Society evolves and that sectors of Society evolves from a legal system based on amateurs to highly specialised medical and pharmaceutical systems from victorian quakery and primitive alchemists.

I commend good History books written by great Historians to my readership.

That way you know that what news you should be concentrating on. Surveillance Capitalism??
