I have been saying for ages that we need to fight but have been ignored.
I have chosen to link to John Cooper QC’s Soundcloud Interview with Carl Gardener because JC speaks a lot of sense about protesting as well as being a consistent voice amidst all the betrayals, entropy, lack of vision etc.
John shows us what the problems are facing the [Criminal] Bar which are of an unprecedentedly destructive nature. I am primarily a CB [A] Girl who also has a hidden Solicitor side ala Gibralter Legal System which I have never given into but need too.
I am of the long held opinion that we need to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, THINK CREATIVELY, THINK META CONFERENCES, THINK OUT OF THE BOX ABOUT HOW WE ALL RELATE TO ONE ANOTHER. IT IS ALL HANDS ON DECK!
We collectively HAVE TO take back the CBA, the Law Society, The BSB,
We have to act ex nihilo OUT OF NOTHING we create SOMETHING GREAT!! Just because something isn’t there don’t mean we don’t create it!
Of course we have regulatory bodies but we HAVE TO LEARN TO TAKE THEM BACK.
Word Jaime more power to your elbow, ever power to you John as consistent voice despite CBA radio silence (!!!!) and power to everyone who wishes to see out of the box thinking.

This week I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to contribute to the CBA’s Monday Message. Those of you who have read that or are familiar with my recent blogs will appreciate that I believe the Criminal Justice System in this country is currently under such strain that it has collapsed in on itself.
The casual observer will still think that the system is purring along nicely. They will see that courts still sit with bewigged and/or enrobed ladies and gentleman dotted around. They will read about a celebrity being convicted of the odd offence in 19. They will hear The Lord Chancellor pontificating about how to make the system better with a new fangled tweak here or a pointless pilot there.
What they do not see is the truth. They do not see the wasted hearings because the papers have not been served. They do not see the…
